Huge increase of solar panels efficiency combined with substantial cost reduction ! Go UNSW !

Beyond this tremendous innovation, this news has got me particularly excited since it's my University we're talking about ! :)

As developed more in depth by the article, a design improvement using hydrogen atoms to counter the defects of the silicon cells used in solar panels enable to reach a top quality efficiency while substantially reducing their cost ! How awesome is that ??!!

This is in a way a potential "disruptive innovation" since it could allow solar panels to reach a greater market by making it more affordable and cost effective without giving up on efficiency, au contraire !

And reach a larger market, make solar panels profitable even on the short term, that is THE key stake of the solar industry !

The solar industry needs to pass ASAP the breaking point where it will be big enough to sustain itself without being oversensitive to the slightest economical change and at the mercy of governments policies, lack of ambition and inconsistence.

Make it profitable, make it sustainable !
